In June 2007, the Commission confirmed it decision to refer the matter to the Court in view of nine catchment points ware not yet compliant and indicated that it planned to asked the Court to order France to pay a lump-sum EUR 28 000 000 and a daily penalty payment EUR 117 000. In September, in view of the efforts (new strict legal provisions implemented in the “litigation basins”), the Commission suspended its decision.
